Your PSP is now a phone too! (If you’re lucky)
Sony’s CES show site has reported news that VOIP support will soon be added to the PSP handheld device. Nikkei Net (registration required) is also reporting that the Skype VOIP service will be available on PSP some time this month! … but it’s not all good news…

The PSP Slim was launched in September worldwide and sadly this will be the only version of the hand-held device capable of the Skype functionality. Owners of the slim-line PSP will be able download the Skype software directly onto the machine but will need a specially designed microphone in order to talk.
The service will be free for PSP to PSP or PSP to PC calls. Slim owners will also be able to subscribe to a dedicated Skypeout phone number to take incoming calls from conventional phones.
