Economic Daily News, a Taiwanese publication, is claiming that local company Innolux will be providing touchscreens for Apple from the middle of 2008. If true the timing matches speculation for the launch of a new version of the iPhone.

Axiotron is apparently rolling out a device they are calling the ModBook Mac Tablet that is a fully compatible (at the moment) Mac running OS X.4 Tiger (Leopard version does not seem to available) and a Wacom tablet.

Amtek have produced a tablet format computer, the T221, which went on display today. Features include: a 12.1-inch XGA display, an active digitizer, resistive touchscreen, a 1.2GHz Intel Core Duo CPU, up to 2GB of RAM, a 60GB hard drive, 802.11a/b/g, and a GMA 950 graphics chipset.

LoopRumors reports that Apple plans to reveal a Tablet format Mac in January and that it will be a completely new type of device with its own variant of Leopard geared specifically to the unique features of the device. It will include a solid state drive, a miniDVD reader and most interestingly of all users [...]
Cnet is reporting that “Asus is helping Apple build a Tablet PC”. This would normally be regarded as typical speculation that surrounds both Apple and it’s products were it not for further longstanding indications of a tablet format computer from Apple.
