If your current TV stand doesn’t quite out-gun your neighbours’ this could be just the piece of kit to redress the balance. Onei Solutions have launched a TV stand sporting a 6.1 surround speaker system that can transform the playback quality in a small room without giving up any precious space.
Yesterday I reported on the ZVOX 550 which sat under your flat panel TV and provided a speaker system of favourable quality. Well, only 24 hours later we see a system which makes all others pale by comparison. Just look at these outrageous proportions!
Lu Le was inspired by the “Peas in a Pod” concept to design a speaker system consisting of a transparent tube containing seven sound-emitting speaker-balls. The balls can be removed from the tube and spread around the room to spread the distribution of the sound — and probably to ruin the stereo image too!
The makers of this radical-looking speaker claim that it is able to emulate the playing of live music in your living room. The R907 is an development of the R909 design to enable it to function in smaller rooms than the huge hangers demanded of the earlier model for the acoustic trickery to work.
Fostex, the Japanese audio company will soon be launching their G2000 Magnesium speakers in their home market. Come July the high end speakers will be gracing living rooms for only $6000!
