Toshiba jumps on photoframe bandwagon with the DPF7XSE
Toshiba could be the last of the world’s electrical goods manufacturers to release a digital photo frame but the DPF7XSE may be the sexiest yet.
Toshiba has ‘lifted the bar’ in both the looks and the specification of its model:
- 7 inch 800 x 480 resolution
- 2x 1W dual stereo speakers
- MP3, WMA, DivX, Mpeg4 stills and movie support
- Memory card reader reading the following formats:
- SD
- MMC
- Compact Flash
- Memroy Sticks
- Mass storage devices
- 256MB RAM
- 1.5m USB cable included
Notably missing from the package is WiFi connectivity which would save hooking the device up to a Mac or PC every time you want to reconfigure it (competing products from Kodak and Samsung have this).
The DPF7XSE is due to be launched in the Autumn but no specifica date has been announced and no indication as to the pricing of the device has been revealed but it is expected to worry competitors.
