Nokia 6301 cellphone is also a switcher!

Hot on the heels of Blackberry’s announcement yesterday of their 8820 device and it’s ability to switch from EDGE to Wi-Fi, Nokia has launched its 6301 phone. The difference is that Nokia’s box of tricks uses GSM as it’s cellular digital network, making it much more attractive to Europeans.

Blackberry 8820 goes seamlessly from Wi-Fi to EDGE

The Blackberry 8820 is the first mobile and Wi-Fi Blackberry phone and was announced today by RIM and AT&T and slated for a September 20th reelase date. The combination of connections means that Blackberry users can use their Blackberry via Wi-Fi at work to increase coverage and at home. For an additional charge any of AT&T’s 10,000 US hotspots can be used for cheaper calls on the move. All of this happening seamlessly and without the user having to select the appropriate connection method.

Apple locks out third party apps from new iPods

Less than a fortnight ago Apple introduced its new range of iPods including a new model, the iPod touch. After celebrating the new features beautiful designs and innovative interface some commentators having taken the hood off have discovered a less welcome feature.

Fuji FinePix F50 SE review

I’m always on the hunt for the ultimate, point-and-shoot compact camera that I can carry around in my pocket when I don’t want to bring out the big Canon 5D. I’ve owned several Canon PowerShots going all the way back to the S400 and I’ve even had a Panasonic Lumix. All have been fine cameras, but I’ve had my eye on the Fuji FinePix series for a while, especially after hearing how well they do in low light. Well I may have just found my perfect compact camera, the new Fuji FinePix F50 SE.

UFS memory on the horizon

Universal Flash Storage or UFS is an attempt by the industry to drive up memory capacity and specs for consumer electronic devices such as mobile phones and digital cameras. Access speeds are expected to be around twenty times todays speeds.

Eve MMORPG may reach Macs by end of the year

Ninja Gaiden 2 will come to Xbox 360

Ninja Gaiden 2 will at last made its debut on Xbox 360 and it’s not just an upgrade but a complete re-write from the ground up. The game engine is new and developed exclusively for Microsoft by renowned game developer Tomonobu Itagaki.
