Quicksilver shows new mobile concept

This is the mobile phone concept of a surf clothing company. When closed it takes the form of a near-circular device with a rectangular central console. The console is divided down the middle: the left half is a screen and the right a matrix of up-side-down buttons.

When the phone is opened up the screen is revealed to be twice the size and the buttons (now the right way up) illuminate. And that’s it. Other than that it’s a normal mobile phone with an admittedly large screen

I can’t help thinking that the shape of the phone while open would make it very uncomfortable to use, the screen is too far away from the buttons, the hinge looks too big and clunky and don’t most phones of the many ‘flip-open’ formats work even when they’re closed these days? Difficult when the buttons are the wrong way up!
