Data readers on everyone’s phone!
Available in The Far East for around ten years now but seemingly unheard of anywhere else QR is a two dimensional barcode system pioneered by Japanese firm Denso-Wave. In Japan and South Korea it is common for phones to have QR readers built into them allowing the device to instantly read a small page of text or contact details.
There is probably no end to the list of uses that clever people can think of for such a technology and you can get software right now from Kaywa and install it on your phone if it is compatible.
