TheStreet.com reports that Nokia will this year “finally embrace the touchscreen movement” in the form of the futuristic Nautilus range of cell phones.
The finance site predicts that three new models will be launched this year featuring touchscreens and slide-out QWERTY keyboards.
The Nautilus phones will apparently have a gesture sensor which causes the keyboard to slide out and the keys to pop up when required.
The report concludes:
After losing a big chunk of the lucrative smartphone business last year to Research In Motion and Apple, Nokia seems determined to recapture its old glory through new designs and products. Nokia’s worldwide smartphone suffered a 17% drop last year, falling to 40.8% in the fourth quarter from 50.9% in the year-ago period.

I still like very much what Nokia is doing with their lineup with phones and soon they’ll be back on par.
