Tima Watch: the E-paper wristwatch concept

Just as it seems inevitable that there will one day be an e-paper variant of virtually every kind of visual display, French designer Julien Bergignat brings us the Tima Watch, an e-paper based wristwatch. The Tima Watch makes use of e-paper’s lightness and the inherent ability of pixel-based displays to display any image of the designer’s choice. This gives rise to a comfortable and attractive wristwatch capable of displaying the time and date in digital or analogue format on a large black and white face. Although the Tima first surfaced in 2006 no manufacturer has been found for it which is a surprise considering the ready availability of the materials (aluminium, e-paper and leather) involved. Here’s hoping the Tima watch makes an appearance soon.
