Sandisk View eyes up iPod Nano market share
Apple’s not having everything it’s own way these days and just as Vodafone announces an iTunes rival Sandisk wheels out an iPod Nano competitor.
Only a week ago Apple launched it’s new range of multi-coloured and chest-expanded iPods and in answer Sandisk now announces its Sansa View video MP3 player replacing the original Sansa View which was much less elegant in design and sported a wide-screen design.

The screen of the new model is a 2.4inch 320×240 pixel affair with native support for video formats like MPEG4, WMV and H.264. Sansa also supply a bundled converter that gives access to other formats such as DivX
Claimed battery life is 7 hours for video and 35 hours for audio. It is available in 8GB and 16GB versions. Pricing has so far only been announced for the US at $149 (£73, €107) and $199 (£98, €144), making it very competative against its Apple equivalents.

It may be competetive, but it looks like an ipod hit with an ugly stick!

You’re right about the Sansa thing BUT DON’T INSULT THE STICK!
