ATI Radeon 4800 specs leaked but you’ll have to wait a little longer to play with them
New details about AMD’s next generation graphics card as the launch date approaches. Among the leaked details we can see physics processing and lower prices but it looks like Nvidia may beat AMD to the finishing post with their GT200.

It was widely expected that ATI will launch its RV770 chip first, followed by Nvidia’s GT200. But as it stands right now, Nvidia has the pole position in a new round of the graphics wars. Of course, the GT200 and RV770 are actually not entirely comparable, because of their huge price difference. But performance-wise, we may be in for a close race.
ATI’s Radeon 4800 series will be introduced in three models - as 4850, 4870 and 4870 X2. In performance terms a 4870 should be on a par with or better than a dual-chip 3870 X2.
In the launch materials ATI highlights “Game physyics processing” so it will be interesting to see who provided the physics engine since ATI lost out on opportunities to aquire Havok and PhysiX.
