SmartNav mouse replacement reads your head (Video)

There are some innovative and some downright odd variations on the mouse around these days and the SmartNav falls into both categories. It is a head-tracking device that measures your head-motion as indicated by a dot placed on your forehead scanned by a camera on top of your monitor.

Unfortunately, in order to activate the mouse button(s) you have to install a secondary device such a foot pedal. In fact the following secondary devices are available for providing that extra input data:

• One button click switch
• Single action foot switch
• Palm button
• Finger rings
• Hat (incorporating the ‘dot’)
• ‘voice clicking’ software
