Mint Wireless V10 is world’s smallest projector

This September the world’s smallest projector will be launched by Australian company Mint Wireless. Measuring only 125 x 55 x 23mm the device is literally pocket sized.

Mint Wireless has teamed up with a Taiwanese manufacturer to produce the diminutive projector and the combined technology will be able to project a 50 inch image from six feet away.

Alex Teoh, CEO, Mint Wireless commented:

“The V10 pocket projector has achieved significant interest amongst some of Australia’s largest retailers and we are discussing commercial arrangements with retailers now. We expect sales of the pocket projector to be high, particularly as we approach the Christmas period. There is nothing like the pocket projector on the market today – it is a true hybrid product that can be used for both business and leisure. Given the success of devices such as the iPhone, we expect the projector will fit well into this market.”

The LED lamp has a claimed life of 20,000 hours and Mint Wireless also claims that the lamp does not require warming up prior to use and the rechargeable Li-ion battery is good for an hour-long presentation. The resolution is 640×480 in 4:3 format.

The machine will retail for around $600 (US), a price justified by the ease of transportation in a world where a presentation may have to be made anywhere.

That seems really cool! 640×480 resolution is not much, but with that size and price it’s pretty good. Maybe you could put two or four next to each other and get a device to make them into one screen.
