Dell Crystal Monitor announced - now its official!
At CES lat year Dell presented a concept for a very large techno-sexual LCD monitor inlaid into a panel of glass with a futuristic but classic air. It seemed to be a mere publicity stunt so imagine our surprise at the official announcement of the very same to be launched under the name of the Dell Crystal.

Apart from the stunning appearance of the device the Crystal boasts some impressive features including the ability to attach small peripherals, built in loudspeakers and an integrated webcam (2MP) with a microphone. The other specs pan out as:
- Resolution: 1680 x 1050
- Response time: 2ms (gray to gray)
- Contrast: 2000:1
- Connections: DVI and HDMI (both with HDCP) and 2 USB ports

The monitor is protected from the outside world by a 4mm layer of glass claimed to be ‘extremely transparent’ and of ‘premium quality’ which might go some way to justify the price tag of £608 ($1,200, €814).
