Denon AH-C751 earphones replace AH-C700 but can you spot the difference?
Denon’s top-of-the-range in-ear-phones, the AH-C700 have been usurped! The new premium Denon ear piece is the newly available AH-C751 boasting an all metal construction (’metal bullet’) in machined aluminium and powered by neodymium magnets. But what is the gain in the specification as a result of this technology … you may be surprised…

Here’s the basic spec for the now ‘old-hat’ C700:
Drive units ø: 11 mm Neodymium magnet
Input impedance: 16 Ω/ohms
Sensitivity: 104 dB/mW
Maximum input: 250 mW
Frequency response: 12 - 24,000 Hz
Weight: 6.6 g (not including cable)
And now for the C751 newcomer:
Drive units ø: 11 mm Neodymium magnet
Input impedance: 16 Ω/ohms
Sensitivity: 104 dB/mW
Maximum input: 250 mW
Frequency response: 12 - 24,000 Hz
Weight: 6.6 g (not including cable)
Did you spot the difference? No? Niether did I.
Cold numbers apart the C751 does seem to offer true state-of the art technology in a very small package which are not reflected in the specs. For instance they feature an acoustic optimiser port structure which is designed to bring out ideal acoustic characteristics and improve dynamics by adjusting sound pressure balance around the diaphragm.
External noise is shielded from the lister’s ear so you don’t have to deafen yourself in order to maintain sound quality — and it also helps to prevent noise leakage.
The Denon AH-C751 earphones are on sale now and priced at £149.99 ($199, €199).
