Apple grants Vodafone iPhone deals in ten countries
It looks as if the exclusive iPhone retail model is collapsing around Apple’s ears and Vodafone is proving to be the beneficiary. The Apple iPhone is now to be sold by Vodafone in ten countries, some of them with an incumbent ‘exclusive’ retailer.

The countries benefiting from Apple’s new-found belief in the competitive market are as follows:
- Australia
- Czech Republic
- Egypt
- Greece
- India
- Italy
- Portugal
- South Africa
- Turkey
How ironic that the network that rejected Apple’s initial overpriced and over-restrictive retail arrangements is now bound to dominate its international distribution.
The announcement is also timed nicely with respect to the expected launch of the 3G iPhone next month which many buyers in these markets have been holding out for.
Expect further announcements for Germany and the UK in the near future.
